lacombe and I have been chipping away at this over the past little while, with lacombe doing the web design and all the posting and me sitting back and doing a substantial amount of the copy, including the much shorter and more succinct FAQ on the front page and on the About page. It looks pretty damn awesome, if you ask me.

Some of the articles are already up there. These are the articles that have been edited, revised, and sent to me anew. If you don't see your article up there and it's been long since completed, please PM me with the link to your edited article and we'll make sure it gets put up in punctual fashion.

In case you're honestly not sure whether you've sent me your article yet, here's what I've got listed in my records: ( (list of articles and status thereof) )

Looking at some of these, it looks entirely possible that you've made the corrections suggested by your editors and have merely neglected to inform me that your article is happily polished. Please do let me know of this, preferably by PM since I'm really terrible with comments, and we'll happily stick it on the website!

I'm not going to enforce a deadline on these. The beauty of the Lit Lib is that it's pretty much self-directed. If you'd rather not have it posted on the website and would just like to have it hover here, that's totally up to you. We're more than happy to put it on the site, but it's up to you to edit it and send it my way. <3

And please do give lacombe a huuuuge round of applause for his fantastic work on designing the thing. He's been working like crazy on it, I feel utterly lazy in comparison. XD

My name is Leigha, and I'm an overzealous student.

(hi, leigha.)

I went back to school for the first time in eight months today. It was epic joy! I only had one class and it only lasted 40 minutes (and I spent most of the time contemplating the professor's accent), but it was good enough for me. After class, I decided I loved campus quite a lot and decided to stay there, so I took out one of my course books from the library (the line-up for the bookstore was insaaaane, but that's a different story) and read.

...I read the book.

I READ IT!

*curses the honesty gods*

All right, fine. Here's what really happened:
I sat down with the book. It was a short history of Northern Ireland. (If you know me very well at all, you know I have sort of a peculiar fascination with all of Britain and Ireland, but my closet interest is Northern Ireland in particular at the moment.) I opened the book. I read to page 2. And then I stopped. And daydreamed for an hour and a half. About my future academic career.

Which I will not HAVE if I keep DAYDREAMING instead of DOING MY READING.

This was the (incredibly unlikely) scenario I came up with.

I'm wandering down the street in Scotland someday, and all of a sudden I hear this man talking. It's an unmistakeable Northern Irish accent omg what a coincidence! So I track him down and shake his hand and blurt out, "So what's your political affiliation?" like it's his horoscope sign or something, and it turns out he's really lovely and charming (because almost all of my ridiculous daydreams involve a lovely, charming gentleman) and good about it and tells me he's a Unionist Catholic! Which blows my mind because that's like super rare (I gather) and then I ogle over him like a scientist and ask him all kinds of politically invasive questions and he's a good sport and tells me all I want to know and then I write my thesis based on the things he's told me and eventually we get married and have lovely Irish babies \o/.

There are so many things wrong with this I can't even tell you, but the point of this suddenly very embarrassing story is that my imagination has completely overrun any sense of any work ethic whatsoever.

I've spent the majority of the last two months writing like a fool. It's all complete tripe and I won't let you read a word of it, but I broke 100,000 words over two months. I've been imagining sixty plotlines a day. And now all of a sudden I expect my brain to settle back into school mode where it's all absorbtion and no creation?

Harumph.

Learning is one of the things I love best in the whole world. The thing is, so is writing. Right now, I think they're trying to incorporate into one another. I daydream about my future academics very often, but not usually in so much depth.

It's all very fine and well if they want to come together and have historical-fiction babies all over the place, but there's a time, you know? And that time is not when I'm supposed to be reading.

It took me three hours to read 25 pages because of this muse hooligan. I suppose all you suffering from a lack of muse are a wee bit jealous of me at the moment, but I would gladly share. Want some of my muse? Take it! I need to do my damn schoolwork.

Harumph again.
